As New York City’s humans struggle with the lockdown, dogs are living their best lives.
Animal shelters have seen a surge in applications to foster and adopt. Most owners home are all day. Dogs are getting longer walks, more treats and extra attention.
This is not great news for dog walkers and other animal-care providers. Business has plummeted.
“It’s just a bloodbath,” said Chun-Soon Li, founder of ProspectBArk, a Brooklyn-based dog-walking and pet-sitting service. “We’ve never seen anything like this.”
